These scents were isolated using traditional methods like distillation, capturing the full spectrum and depth of the original fragrance. However, these processes were expensive and labour-intensive, making perfumes a luxury few could afford.

The Rise of Synthetic Scents: Cost-Effective Yet Complex

Perfumery underwent a seismic shift with the invention of mass spectrometry and advanced chemical synthesis.
